CANCELED: MOB NIGHT PRACTICE (Benjamin Walters)

Friday, August 14, 4:00PM to 9:45PM

Night live person in the water MOB practice. This is a requirement for our night sails with probation classes and is only done once a year with a chase boat. Please do not sign up if you have not already done a day MOB drill. A remarkable experience not available anywhere else. A training discussion on the boat then out into the night....bring your dinner.

Certification Sail (Golden Bear)

Sunday, August 30, 10:00AM to 3:30PM

Certification for Crew and Second Captain. If we figure out a distanced MOB process we can include that but at the moment no MOB is planned.

We limit the number aboard to ensure all are able to participate. Best for people who have sailed on Bear in the past so they can complete the certification at their level.

NIGHT PRACTICE (Benjamin Walters)

Saturday, October 3, 5:30PM to 9:30PM

Absent a change in pandemic restrictions, MOB will not be allowed and, instead, this will be a night sailing skills practice. Once the pandemic retreats, we can practice the MOB drill...but there is a lot of equipment to master for good night practice, from light identification to working the lines to using radar, night vision, thermal vision, etc. Bring your own food, a red headlamp will be provided.
