Another sail with the enthusiastic students coming all the way from Grass Valley. NOTE: Earlier start and end time.
Second class with these students and we go for overboard drill, live. It cements the class together as a crew and is usually one of their favorite classes. Also basics of sailing reviewed.
Our second sail with the incarcerated students at Alameda Juvenile Hall. First time this is being tried in California. 2-3 students at first, four POs....if it works, start of a new program.

We’re excited to announce a dual-sail for SF CASA and Marin CASA! (CASA—Court Appointed Special Advocates—works with foster children, and we’ve had the pleasure of sailing with them before. Their foster parents often join as well, making it an always memorable day on the Bay with truly remarkable kids.)
For this sail, we’ll need the Aleta crew to meet at the Berkeley Marina at 8am to allow for a 1.5 hour leeway for prep and travel across the Bay.
Our third class with these students. We set courses to follow and if wind right, fly the gennaker. Review of basics as well.
