International Rescue Committee Youth Connections (Golden Bear)

Saturday, April 20, 9:30AM to 3:00PM

nternational Rescue Committee supports refugee youth across the Bay Area. Many of these kids are trying to adapt to their new environment and are healing from traumatic events in leaving their home countries, sometimes without their families. The Youth Connections provides a community and fun events to get to know the Bay Area.

NIGHT OVERBOARD PRACTICE (Benjamin Walters)

Friday, May 3, 6:00PM to 10:30PM

A night overboard drill for certification. Only sign up if you are already day mob certified. We go over the systems at dock for an hour or so, then out to live drill as the sun sets. Bring your dinner. Coffee and snacks will be on board. Remember, you have to have a light on your life vest for all night sails.

CANCELED: NIGHT MOB PRACTICE BENJAMIN WALTERS (Benjamin Walters)

Friday, May 3, 6:30PM to 10:30PM

A night MOB live practice with a swimmer and chase boat. This is our hardest drill and is limited to those who have already done a day MOB drill and intend to go on our night sails. Bring dinner, lights on your life vest and warm clothing. A remarkable experience you will not get in any other locale...We go through a dry run at the dock then out into the night.

Monthly Board Meeting

We are ALWAYS done by 8 PM. If you cannot make it in, we have a Zoom conference space you can use to be telepresent.You must register in order to access the meeting via Zoom. Registration will generate connection details which are good for subsequent meetings.

First Aid / CPR / AED training

Saturday, May 18, 10:00AM to 12:00PM

CPR/First Aid training required for certification. Free to BWF volunteers. PLEASE NOTE: This certification will be blended learning, meaning that the video and "lecture" portion will be done online at your own time and only the skills portion will be done in-person. You will be sent a link from ARC American Red Cross (email may be addressed from Salesforce) Online portion must be complete before skills session.
